Superformula

The superformula is a general mathematical description of closed curves in N dimensions (specifically, a superellipse). It was originally conceived by mathematician Johan Gielis as a common framework to describe complex shapes, particularly those observed in nature. However, the ingenious formulation allows for the construction of 3D solids that are both qualitatively distinct and can be parametrically manipulated between perceptually distinct states.

I have written a graphical interface for generating 3D super formula solids in MATLAB, available on GitHub.
